CedarWood
Ranch is a breeding and boarding facility in Ridgecrest California. Located
in the upper Mojave Desert at the base of the Rademacher Hills, CedarWood
Ranch is a family-owned and operated business.
Our Philosophy
At
CedarWood Ranch we strive to breed and raise high quality Paint and Pinto
horses that have excellent conformation, disposition, ability, soundness and
color. Our horses are handled using Natural Horsemanship methods that
instill a calm, confident demeanor and make our horses a pleasure to handle
and ride.
Our Stallions
CedarWood Ranch is very proud of stallion, Silk N Quincy. We recently bought Silk N Quincy from the Rocking RD
Ranch in Las Vegas, Nevada. We have been a long-time fan of Silk N Quincy
and bred a QH mare to him his first year at stud in 1984. Since that time
she has owned four "Bandit" foals and still has her favorite mare by him,
Silk Bouquet, whom she bought 15 years ago when the mare was two. Now "Bou"
is teaching the children to ride and show. Buying Silk N
Quincy has been a dream come true for CedarWood Ranch!! "Bandit" is an APHA
Champion, a Superior Halter horse, a Superior Western Pleasure horse, a ROM
trail horse, and has points in HUS and Western Riding. He is an outstanding
sire of Superior halter and Performance horses, a Reserve World Champion
Open Jumping horse, and tremendous sire of youth and amateur horses that
have the talent, conformation and disposition to be great show horses.
"Bandit" is
sired by Quincy Jitterbug, an own son of the Legendary Sir Quincy Dan and is
out of Silky Sunrise, a Superior Western Pleasure mare with an APHA Amateur
Championship and points in halter and an ROM in trail. This beautiful show
mare was sired by the great Easter Sunrise. Easter Sunrise was a Superior
Halter horse with ROMs in HUS, Cutting, Reining, Trail, Western Pleasure and
Western Riding. He is also the sire of over 160 offspring, 56 of whom have
show records.

Our Boarding Facility
We are
located on the outskirts of the city limits of Ridgecrest. We love this
location for its close proximity to town and yet we still enjoy the serene
peacefulness of life in the country. Our property adjoins open country and
hundreds of miles of unfenced riding. A BLM maintained trail system (the
Rademacher Hills Trail) is less than 1/2 mile from our front gate and
adjoins miles of trails up and through the hills to the south of our ranch.
The gentle slope up to the hills and the sandy footing provides excellent
conditioning opportunities for horses.
CedarWood
Ranch has many large corrals and arenas. We have two large riding arenas,
one with lights for night riding during the hot summer months. We have
developed an extensive trail course on our ranch to further challenge our
horsemanship abilities and the responsiveness of our horses. We have a wash
rack that is covered, well lit, and has crossties and rubber mats. The
foaling stall on our ranch is 20 x 20, completely enclosed and screened for
fly protection, and has lights and a fan. We provide foaling and imprinting
services to mares that foal on our ranch for a nominal fee. Our feeding
program consists of alfalfa hay, and free choice salt blocks (mixed hay,
grain and psyllium available upon special arrangement). CedarWood Ranch is
fully fenced and has a locked gate for additional security.
Here at
CedarWood Ranch we look forward to giving you a personal tour of our
facilities and the opportunity to see our stallion Silk N Quincy!
